BS Gill ‘Gilly’ is the new Chandigarh Golf Club President

The results of the elections of the Chandigarh Golf Club are out now and quite expectedly, BS Gill, who is popularly known as Gilly in the golfing circles, romped home with 663 votes, while his rival Panag got 250 votes.

“My priority will be to concentrate on the golf course and stick to no wasteful expenditure,” said Gill, who contested mainly on these two agendas. He has remained president of the club during 2009-11 and 2014-16. Gill, who is an advocate by profession, is a brother of former Punjab DGP late KPS Gill. Kulbir Singh Brar (Sweety), who was part of the previous committee, got the maximum number of votes among the 11-member management committee. He got 600 votes, followed by Amarbir Singh Lehal (Sandy) 577 votes. The other two members — Lt Col HS Chahal (Bobby) and Amarinder Singh Aulakh (Gags) who were part of the last year management committee, have retained their seats. Chahal got 548 votes, while Aulakh got 539 votes.
